Landscape Assignment

According to dictionary.com the definition of landscape is, " section or expanse of rural scenery, usually extensive, that can be seen from a single viewpoint."

Living in beautiful Vermont, the landscape tells a story, shares history, is rural,  and makes you stop and take in the view. As you are driving along the road you sometimes forget to look around and take a close look at the rolling hills, the fields of corn growing, or just those pesky dirt roads that offshoot from the main roads. While driving the roads of Addison County this fine afternoon, it was a breathtaking day. The weather was amazing, the position of the sun was perfect, and the views were perfect for finding that "perfect shot".
What I learned about taking photo's of landscapes is that you need a perfect balance of colors, lights, elements, and the right spot. When taking the photo's I tried to get a focal point and then incorporated the rest of the landscape in the photograph. To get the right balance. As I was scouring for the right photo I tried look for lines, for a balance of elements, and just an image that made me want to jump out of the vehicle at that moment.

  1. These photos are absolutely gorgeous! You really have taken the time to make sure that there is visual interest in the foreground, middle ground and background. They are all well lit and the exposure is set perfectly so that there are no overly bright areas or overly dark areas that detract from the image. Excellent work…

  2. The last picture is absolutely gorgeous. It looks like a little fairy could be playing on the rock or a mermaid could swim out from the water. A very interesting angle.

  4. I love all of the photos but the first and last are my favorite. I love the shadows in the first one and the movement of the water in the last one.
